The cause:  Kathy was tagged in the right side going into turn one, by a fellow T2 driver trying to make a pass in the grass (NOTE: The grass is not a racing surface!). The impact spun Kathy into the tyre wall at a very high speed.  Vehicle speed at the beginning of the incident was over 100mph.  The tyre wall launched the car into the air, it landed on it's roof.

There are 12 bolt on panels on an MCoupe.  Only one survived untouched, the right sill panel. The front and rear bumper covers were repaired, the front having quite extensive damage, the right fender was repaired.  All other sheet metal, and a lot of structural metal, had to be replaced.
